Exciting new late- night Bar Esquina, based within Alea Casino in the heart of Nottingham is now open and we had the pleasure of visiting recently with friends to experience what they had to offer… Upon first impressions the newly opened bar has an extremely warm and cosy feel to it, with booths and quiet corners placed throughout, giving guests the opportunity to have a private area for their party or an intimate dining experience for couples and cleverly provides for both, without imposing on one another. The interior is mostly red and black with added warm tones and dimmed, retro style lighting, comfortable seating, rustic wooden tables and an impressive bar and deli area, showcasing the antipasti and tapas selection. Our booth was reserved for six of us and we were greeted with a smile and some delicious Peach Sangria served with fresh raspberries on ice- A MUST try. We were then treated to a selection of tapas including baked flatbread with rocket and balsamic, a cheese board featuring a range of offerings including a lovely smoked variety, selection of meats and breads with oil. More cocktails arrived shortly afterwards too and we chose from the extensive menu, to which I opted for a tasty, fruity concoction containing Midori and apple, though I could have certainly made my way through the list, as they all looked absolutely amazing and with Alea’s head mixologist Tong and his team at the bar you can’t go wrong. Bar Esquina is certainly the type of bar you can take your time in over drinks and light tapas and is open from 5pm, so perfect for after work drinks with colleagues or equally date nights with partners or friends and with its cosy, inviting atmosphere you can certainly make a night of it and I will most definitely be returning for more cocktails!
