The Lost City Adventure Golf
My recent visit to this Nottingham based family attraction was nothing short of fun, fun fun!
I took my mum along for what was an afternoon was tasty food, impressive cocktails and crazy golf located in the basement of the popular Cornerhouse complex in Nottingham city centre.
Upon arrival we enjoyed the short walk through the rainforest themed hallway to the reception desk, where we were greeted and asked to choose a table- there are plenty of seating areas, both cosy within the bar area, dining table seating adjacent to this and then bamboo relaxed seating within the mezzanine- a great space for private parties and events of all kinds, featuring its own cocktail bar and spectacular view over the course.
After browsing the menu we were pleased to see a good range of vegetarian finger food- all served in baskets with a selection of dips. We went for butternut squash and sweet potato bites as well dough balls with guacamole, salsa and humus for dipping- just right if you want a light bite for sharing with friends or colleagues before or after a round of adventure golf.
The cocktail list was very appealing and featured mostly signature concoctions themed to the venue with a few classics thrown in. We went for the Ruby Martini, made with rhubarb gin, limoncello, grenadine, lemon and apple juice shaken and served straight up martini style. I very much enjoyed my choice of what may have been the strongest cocktail on the menu – the Violet Ark– (chosen mainly because of its pretty purple appearance) but as an added bonus contained a refreshing mixture of vodka, Bacardi rum, Cointreau and Boe Violet gin with fresh lemon juice, violet syrup and topped with lemonade- phew!
Time to play! We picked up our clubs, balls and off we trundled down the (fast) escalator to be faced with the biggest choice of all- which course to take- The Temple Trail or Sacred Scull Pass.
We took a right and went deep within the rainforest to take the Temple Trail, which consisted of an 18 hole course complete with moving animatronics, bridges and challenges along the way, all accompanied with authentic sound and lighting effects- brilliant!
We visited during the school holidays and whilst it was rather busy it moved at a steady pace so there wasn’t too much waiting in between holes, therefore I’d say there is no right or wrong time to visit, though obviously if you go outside of school holidays you are more likely to get a quieter course to yourself.
I’d recommend The Lost City Adventure Golf to all as it works brilliantly for family gatherings from young to old, friends of all ages as the tiki style bar is beautifully designed and really makes you feel like you are on holiday. In addition I’d recommend it or work/corporate functions as it’s a brilliant way to network and team build amongst colleagues, so for me it really ticked all the boxes.
To summarise I have to say The Lost City is the best indoor adventure golf venue I have visited- the way in which it transports you to another time and place outside of Nottingham is just genius and executed very, very well.
