New York Inspired Manahatta Comes to Nottingham

The Arc Inspirations group behind Box Sports Bar & Kitchen amongst other brands located across the UK, now bring us our very own New York inspired bar- Manahatta to Nottingham…

Located on Queens Street, just up from the Market Square, this is prime location for such a large bar, which having visited their other site a few yards up the road, reminds me of a bougie Box Bar, as their room layouts are very similar to one another featuring two levels and a wide bar the entire length of the venue.

The interior is plush and colourful, with soft furnishings, intimate booths and an impressive private dining area to seat twelve.  The wow factor though is brought by the cluster of large mirror balls on the entrance ceiling, which really brings the party vibe, but in a very classily done way.  The bar is also impressive, it’s not only large but beautiful with a centre screen showing videos of the Manahatta nightlife to expect within the four walls.

The service we received was friendly and tentative with no mistakes and the host on the door was particularly fantastic.

The food – well let’s just say it delivers, without overcomplicating.  Simple dishes done well such as their selection of small plates, which can double up as starters, so we went for the Festive pigs in blankets and the Nachos, which by the way were perfection given the proportion of cheese to everything else was just right.

For main course, I went with the Halloumi Bagel which was served with mango chutney and fries- a great vegetarian lunch that I actually couldn’t finish, as it was a a pretty good size.

No desserts for us, as the above was ample, but we did enjoy a Prosecco and lemonade during lunch.

Overall, a welcome addition to Nottingham and I am looking forward to sampling their bottomless brunch next!
