Bottomless Brunch @ The Hockley Arts club
This hidden bar in Hockley, Nottingham has an exclusive members club feel about it with its brand new doorbell entrance, low lit leather booths and eclectic lamp shades.
As a popular and established fixture in the city, The Hockley Arts Club has existed for many years, specialising in an impressive collection of cocktails and offering both a chilled and party vibe depending upon what day you frequent and what DJ is playing.
Now though comes their new bottomless brunch offering, which I was lucky enough to experience recently (with my ever so grateful mum) and I have to say we had a lovely time from start to finish…
The brunch lasts one hour and a half and in that time, you are welcomed, seated and offered your first arrival drink- a cocktail from the list – we went for a Tequilla based Sabrosa with black raspberry, pineapple, lime and cherry and the Mambo No. 5 containing a rum mix, falernum, apricot, pineapple, cherry, lime and lemonade – a holiday cocktail you can imagine sipping from a hammock somewhere far away and the most popular choice according to the lovely Zack, our very smiley server.
Next came the food- an antipasti board full of colourful, healthy nibbles (all vegetarian as per our choice with vegan and meat options also available). The board was a great, non- heavy alternative to a plated brunch or lunch and allowed us to pick at it whilst chatting and sipping.
The board consisted of a selection of cheeses, artisan crackers of all shapes and colours, grapes, dried apricots, crudites, hummus, apple, artichoke and more- delicious.
Next came a choice of a bottle of Prosecco or a carafe of wine- we went fizzy and I really liked the fact that they just give you the bottle to serve yourself, rather than at some bottomless brunches where you have to order by the glass, which can often hold up proceedings- after all is it supposed to be ‘bottomless’!
Zack was very helpful and efficient throughout and when we took a trip to the ladies upstairs, we also got to have a nosy at their penthouse bar /events space which is adorned with beautiful cherry blossom- a real Instagramable delight.
All in all I really enjoyed my visit (mum too!) and at £29.95 per person I can’t recommend it enough for cost effective, pre-organised fun – thank you team!
